Special Constables Set to Commence Training

Special constables, who are recruited into the community policing initiative of the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Adamu, will commence training on October 9.

This was contained in a memo addressed to all the Commissioners of Police in all state headquarters from the office of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Department of Research and Planning, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The memo, signed by Okinlola Kola Kamaldeen, Commissioner of Police (CPP) Community Policing on October 5, was titled: “Journey Instruction For Special Constables.”

The memo read: "Candidates are to arrive at their respective police training schools with two pairs of white canvas, two pairs of white T-shirts, two pairs of white shorts, sport wears, blanket, two white bedsheets, torchlight, food flask, plates, cup, cutlass, broom, a hoe, bucket and cutleries.

“Candidates should note that these items will be inspected at the entry point into the institutions."

The training will reportedly last for three months.
