Nigerian car promoter and content creator, Waris Olayinka, popularly known as Ola of Lagos, was on Sunday involved in a shocking stage collapse while addressing a gathering at an event in Abia State.
It was gathered that the incident occurred during the opening of a new hotel at Ohafia area of the state.
Moment before the mishap which was captured in a now viral video shared on X on Monday, Ola of Lagos was seen expressing his gratitude to the crowd for their turn out while expressing his love for the Igbos as he concluded his address.
“Me no Yoruba boy but I get big love for Igbo. Igbo Kwenu! All of us we be one. Abi no be so? I just want to use this opportunity to thank una for coming out for Barrister Deo Kalu. He is really a good man to me and to all of us.
“Thank you so much for welcoming the Yoruba boy to your town. You will love it.” He said.

The stage would then collapse with everyone on the platform crashing alongside it just as Ola of Lagos handed over the microphone.
The moment left the crowd in shock with some seen attempting to assist those on the crashed stage.
Ola of Lagos’ stage collapse brought back the memory of similar incident involving popular Nigeria singer, Odumodublvck, in Lagos.
Odumodublvck’s performance at SoL Beach, Elegushi area of Lagos State in December 2024 had suffered same mishap after the stage crashed on him and his crew while performing.
The incident equally left the crowd in shock with his fans extending their prayers and well wishes to the team.
