Leaked Video of embattled former Ooni of Ife’s wife, Naomi Silekunola, urging Ibadan residents to come early at the ill-fated children’s funfair has surfaced online.
The video emerged on X following denial by the queen’s mother that her daughter urged people to come early to the venue of the tragic event which claimed over 35 lives after stampede ensued.
Queen Naomi’s mother had in an interview with popular Nigerian social media influencer, Daddy Freeze, dismissed the claims that her daughter promised to share the relief materials for the funfair on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.
As against the denial, the leaked video showed the queen urging Ibadan children and their parents to arrive very early at the venue after clearly stating that it will commence by 10am.
“It’s Ibadan’s turn this time around. This is me inviting every Ibadan child. We are targeting 5000. Once it is 5000 thousand, we will not be able to accommodate. So first come, first serve.
“Our venue this year in Ibadan is Islamic High School, Bashorun. That’s where we will be. By 10am prompt, be there. In fact you can come before 10am, the place will be open.” Queen Naomi had said in the video.
NPO reported that the queen was, alongside Àgídìgbo FM owner, Oriyomi Hamzat, and the Principal of the school, Abdullahi Fasasi, remanded at Agodi Correctional Centre following their arrest and arraignment before Iyaganku Chief Magistrate Court on Tuesday.
