A Nigerian clergyman, Isa El-Buba, has told the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and Former Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, to stay out of the state’s local government elections.
Reacting to yesterday’s drama at Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission’s (RSIEC) office in a video on his X handle, El-Buba charged Wike to allow Siminalayi Fubara to exercise his duty as Rivers state governor and allow the state to run its own elections.
The clergyman said it’s only Nigerian Ms that can save themselves as he accused the political class of turning politics into business and a do-or-die affair.
“We cannot allow anybody to continue messing up with the system generationally.
“Politicians have made politics to become a business and a do-or-die thing. It is we the people of Nigeria that will save ourselves.
“Let Rivers election be. Please allow the state to run its own election.
“Mr. Wike stay out of this. Concentrate on your assignment at the same Federal Capital Territory and allow the governor play his card as governor.
“Even if he has betrayed you, allow him. Jesus allowed Judas Iscariot to decide his operations.” El-Buba said.
Meanwhile, the clergyman earlier charged the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Judiciary to respect democracy and allow Rivers LG election.
“Please let Rivers election be. What has the Inspector General of Police has to do or the court to interefere with Rivers state?
“Let’s allow elections of Rivers to be. Please let’s respect democracy and allow democracy” He said.
