Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Saturday warned supporters of the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress Bola Ahmed Tinubu against inputting into him what he did not say during the visit of the candidate.
Obasanjo, in a statement by his aide, said it does not help Tinubu should those who claim to be his loyalists tell members of the public what he did not say.
Obasanjo said, “Those claiming to be insiders at the meeting issuing statement on the discussion and those crediting to me statement I had not made are enemies of the visitor and are not doing the visit any good.”
It was not clear if Obasanjo was referring to a claim by the Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila who said that Obasanjo had endorsed Tinubu for the 2023 election.
NPO Reported earlier that Gbajabiamila had told his constituents in Lagos that with what Obasanjo said during the meeting with Tinubu, he was sure victory was certain for the APC candidate.
He was one of those who accompanied Tinubu on the visit to Obasanjo.
