Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Remo Stars, have begun their Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League campaign with a comfortable 2-1 victory over Moroccan side, Asfar, yesterday.
The Sky Blues gave Asfar a good fight at their first preliminary stage match played at Ikenne, Ogun State.
Remo Stars burst into an early lead as Nduka Junior headed home a free kick from Super Eagles defender, Sodiq Ismail, in the 19th minute.
The visitors would, however, pull one back in the second half to bring the game level.
But the Ikenne boys would not settle for less as Sodiq Ismail rose to the occasion ten minutes to the end of the game with a header that sealed the win for Remo Stars.
Asfar FC would host Remo Stars for a return leg in Rabat.
