The Super Falcons of Nigeria has arrived in the country with their 10th Women African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.
Following a successful campaign crowned with a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory against host nation, Morocco, the Nigerian women’s national team, on Monday, landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport, Abuja.
As captured in a video shared on X, the African champion who arrived via Value Jet airline, were received by officials led by the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo.
Emerging first from the aircraft was the team’s captain. Rasheedat Ajibade, who raised the new trophy, triggered heavy applause and cheers from the waiting crowd.
Other members of the team were also jeered as they alighted from the aircraft.
The squad and coaching staff are expected to visit President Bola Tinubu, who was among the first prominent Nigerians to congratulate them after their victory on Saturday night.
