Pro-Democracy group, Take-it-Back-Movement, has declared protest over the arrest of human rights lawyer, Dele Farotimi.
Sequel to the arrest and detention of Farotimi over alleged defamation of Chief Afe Babalola, the group had called for his release.
As seen in a post shared on X on Thursday, the group declared 10th of December 2024 for the protest.
As contained in the post, the protest is set to take place in Lagos, Abuja, Ekiti, and London.
Lagos protesters are to converge at Afe Babalola’s Chambers while Abuja protesters march to the Federal Ministry of Justice.
The movement announced Police Headquarters, Ado-Ekiti as venue for Ekiti State protest while London protesters are to converge at Kings College Campus.
Meanwhile, human rights activists, Omoyele Sowore urged the protesters to arrive at the stipulated venue as early as 7am.
In a post on his X handle, he charged Abuja protesters to occupy the entire Federal Ministry of Justice where the office of the Attorney General of the Federation is based.
“The Abuja movement on December 10 is taking serious shape. People are to converge as early as 7 AM at the Federal Ministry of Justice, where the office of the Attorney General of the Federation is based.
“We must also occupy the entire Federal High Court Complex and then March on the Police HQ.
“We must not forget that every crime against humanity in Nigeria is usually hatched between the @PoliceNG and the Nigerian JUDICIARY. Please arrive early!” Sowore wrote
