Taraba state governor, Agbu Kefas, has, on Monday, presented a proposed 2025 budget of N429 billion to the state’s House of Assembly.
Themed the “Budget of Transformation”, Kefas disclosed that the budget represents 37 percent increase as compared to the 2024 budget.
The governor described the increment as a deliberate and calculated step to reposition Taraba state with greater socio-economic impact.
“This represents a 37% increase over the 2024 budget. A deliberate and calculated step to reposition Taraba state to greater socio-economic impact. This budget expansion is anchored on, strategic investment, to enhance allocation on infrastructure, education, healthcare, and job creation meets growing demand.” he said.
Meanwhile, Kefas highlighted independent revenue, Federal allocation, aids and grants, and capital development funds as the revenue sources for the budget.
According to him, N50.04 billion will be gotten from independent revenue, while N139,93 billion will be sourced from the Federal Allocation Committee.
N154.26 billion will be sourced from Aids and Grants while Capital Development Fund will provide the remaining N79.77bn.
