Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara has commiserated with the labour unions and family of the state Chairman of Trade Union Congress (TUC), Mr Akinsola Akinwunmi, who died in the Monday Abuja-Kaduna train attack.
The condolence message is contained in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Rafiu Ajakaiye, and made available to journalists on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the governor conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and other comrades of the union leader as well as the labour communities in the state.
He prayed God to console everyone affected with the untimely demise of the union leader, who he described as a fine gentleman at this very sad moment.
“I also condole with the families of other victims of the attack.
“The tragic incident, like those before it, is an attack on all the people of Nigeria. We are confident that the security agencies will not spare any resources to get the criminals behind it, as already directed by the President.
“Terrorism and terrorists will not defeat our collective resolve to live in peace and harmony,” the statement read in part.
AbdulRazaq however urged security agencies to do their best to rescue all the abducted persons alive, while ensuring the terrorists behind the incident are arrested and made to face the law.
