Tension in Iju as Residents Repel Mob Action Against Police Station

Residents of Ishaga in Iju, a suburb of Lagos State e have repelled hoodlums who stormed the Red House Police Station with the intention to burn it down.

Tension rose in the afternoon of Saturday when some youths were noticed to be gathering and wielding dangerous weapons.

Residents were said to have called themselves out to protect the police station while some shots were fired to scare away the mob.

Fagba along Iju Road has been scene of violent attacks especially between Yoruba and Hausa youths in the last 72 hours.

Many shops and houses have been burnt while looting also went on for three days.
