There is tension over the planned inauguration of the 10th National Assembly today as the event earlier slated to hold at 8am has been shifted to 10am. NPO Reports learnt that the Clerk had moved the event earlier slated for 10am two hours earlier. The inauguration is not said to be slated for 8am. The development haas generated tension as the sudden shift in time has created suspicion of a group among the senators attempting to spring a surprise. Recall that the inauguration of the 8th National Assembly had witnessed a surprise leading to the emergence of former Senate President, Bukola Saraki and and Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, as the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Already, there are suspicions that former Governor of Abia state, Orji Uzor Kalu and former Governor of Zamfara, Abdulahi Yari, have made plans to show interests to contest with the possibilities of having on their sides, a good number of senators to back them.
Already, the All Progressive Congress had agreed on the candidature of Akpabio as the adopted President of the 10th Senate. But the likes of Kalu and some of his supporters are kicking against the decision of the party.
When the inauguration started, Senator Godswill Akpabio was nominated for the position of senate president by Senator Ali Ndume.
