Terrorists Kill Airport Official; Stops Aircraft From Take Off
The Nigerian terrorism experience went a step further on Saturday as attackers struck at the Kaduna airport preventing an aircraft from taking off.
The Azman flight bound for Lagos was prevented from take off as the bandits attacked the airport killing an official.
Those who stormed the airport were said to be up to 250 in number shooting sporadically.
The situation had caused panic with airport workers abandoning their duties.
The official, name not identified, was said to be a security staff of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency.
He was said to have been gunned down while fleeing from the attackers.
It was gathered that the attackers had first launched an attack midnight Friday but were repelled by military men.
They were said to have returned about 11am Saturday morning and started shooting again.
The invasion of the runway of the airport by the attackers forced more workers to leave their duty posts.
