Demands INEC’s Reversal of Decision
- Safiu Kehinde
The factional National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Sen. David Mark, has dismissed the existence of other factions of the party, declaring that there is only one ADC.
Mark made the declaration while addressing newsmen at the ongoing protest at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Abuja.
NPO Reported that Mark had on Wednesday spearheaded other ADC leaders and supporters in protest over INEC’S de-recognition of his leadership.
Speaking at the protest ground, Mark held that INEC misinterpreted the court’s ruling as he called on the commission to reverse its decision.
“The misinterpretation has deprived us of our proper status.
“That is why we petitioned INEC that they should reverse themselves and give proper interpretation of the Status Quo Ante Belium and not removing the chairman.” He said.
Mark thereafter reiterated that the ADC has no faction, stressing that INEC’s interpretation of the court’s ruling contradicts the actual reality of the party.
“It shouldn’t be treating an individual as a faction. ADC has no faction. There is one ADC. That interpretation doesn’t rhyme with the reality on ground.” He added.
