Edo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of three out of the five boys suspected of raping a 12 -year-old girl.
This was disclosed in a post on the Command’s official X handle on Tuesday.
The Command pledged to arrest the remaining two suspects.
“3 of 5 suspects in custody. We are on top of the matter with the hope of arresting the remaining 2 ASAP.” The post read.
Recall that an X user had, in a post yesterday, raised alarm over the incident.
The X user recounted how the yet-to-be identified girl was sent on errand by her mother.
She, however, cornered by the boys who took her to an uncompleted building where she was raped.
The boys further recorded the video of the rape and shared it on social media.
“A 12 yr old girl was raped by 5 boys in Edo state. Her mother sent her on an errand and they took her into an uncompleted building and did this to her.
“It didn’t end there, they recorded it and posted it.
“A child! 12 years old!” The post read.
