President Bola Tinubu has arrived at Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh, ahead of the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit set to hold on Monday 11th November, 2024.
As seen in a video on X, Tinubu was welcomed by Saudi Arabian entourage as the Presidential jet landed at Riyadh airport.
Tinubu will be joining othe prominent world leaders at summit following his invite by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Centred on the Middle-East crisis, the Nigerian President is set to contribute his quota to the resolution of the Israeli-Palestine conflict.
A statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, had earlier confirmed the attendance of the President.
According to the statement, President Tinubu is expected to address the ongoing Israel-Palestinian conflict, emphasising Nigeria’s strong call for an immediate ceasefire and the urgent need for a peaceful resolution.
Meanwhile, the President was accompanied on the diplomatic mission by senior government officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar; National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris; and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Amb. Mohammed Mohammed.
He is, however, expected to return to Abuja immediately after the conclusion of the summit.
