President Bola Tinubu has, on Wednesday, sworn-in new Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Rtd).
This is coming barely 24 hours after the President declared a state of emergence in the state.
NPO Reported that Tinubu announced the appointment of Ibok-Ete as Rivers Sole Administrator following the six months suspension of governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and Rivers Assembly lawmakers.
As confirmed in a post shared on X by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Ibok-Ete was sworn-in at the State House, Abuja.
“President Bola Tinubu swore- in the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (CFR), at the State House, Abuja on Wednesday.” Onanuga.
However, Ibok-Ete’s appointment is yet to be confirmed by the National Assembly.
