President Bola Tinubu is set to commission the Opebi-Ojota Link Bridge following the Lagos State Government’s completion of the construction project.
This was announced in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile.
According to Akosile, the project will be flagged off this week by Tinubu.
“The Ojota-Opebi link bridge is ready! Yes, it will be flagged off this week by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
“This is a transformational and strategic project delivered by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
“It is a promise made and well delivered!” The Lagos governor’s aide wrote.
The Ojota–Opebi Link Bridge which spanned 5.04-kilometre is reportedly aimed at easing traffic congestion along major corridors, including Ojota, Maryland, Mende, Opebi and Allen in the Ikeja axis.
It was flagged off on January 26, 2022, by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who described the project as another milestone in the implementation of the Traffic Management and Transportation Pillar of his administration’s THEMES Developmental Agenda and the State Strategic Transport Master Plan (STMP).
