Tragedy struck in the early hours of Thursday as fire has gutted a four storey building which houses many stores of fabric merchants at the popular Balogun Market, Lagos.
Officials of the Federal Fire Service and the Lagos `state counterparts are busy trying to put the fire out.
However, NPO Reports observed that the efforts are not until goods worth billions of Naira have been consumed by the inferno.
The cause of the fire was unknown as at the time of filing this report.
Ibrahim Farinloye, Zonal Head of the National Emergency Management Agency confirmed the incident.
A twitter user, Chidi Churchil, posted a vivid video of the fire as it raged Thursday morning.
