Scores of travelers have been left stranded as suspected kidnappers laid siege along Oshokoshoko–Obajana Road in Kabba area of Kogi state.
The state which over the past weeks recorded multiple cases of abductions was once again on the spotlight with another planned highway attack on motorists by armed bandits on Monday.
A video recorded by one of the stranded travelers showed several vehicles parked along road with the passenger watching the deserted road ahead of them from distance.
He disclosed that they have stranded on the same spot for over three hours as they await an all clear from a group of military personnel who were engaging the bandits in fierce gun duel before they can continue with the journey.
“This is Oshokoshoko at Kogi State between Kabba and Obajana. We are all stuck here. We can all see what is happening here.
“We have been here for three hours. Kidnappers have taken over the road. We don’t know what to do. We don’t know where to go.” The traveler said in the video.
