Two persons have been killed at different places in Ilesha when cult Groups clashed in the area of Osun State.
NPOreports gathered that the first victim, identified as ThankGod Olorunwa was shot by a stray bullet in the area of Iwara in Atakunmosa East Local Government.
It was also gathered that the young man, Olorunda who works at a sawmill in the area, went to buy cowpea for his breakfast before he met his untimely death.
Confirming the incident, the Police Spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola, who spoke with NPOreports said “Information availed the Osun State Command revealed that today 9/6/21 about 9:15 am, suspected cultists one Solo and Bode with their gangs from Iwara in Atakunmosa East Local Government of the State shot dead one ThankGod Olorunwa 'm' 28 years of Irojo area, Ilesa, State.”
According to Opalola, “The corpse has been deposited at Wesley Guild Hospital mortuary, Ilesa. Meanwhile, police has intensified its searchlight for possible arrest and prosecution of the suspected cultists.”
In a related development, hoodlums suspected to be cultists member have killed another female identified as Ruth Omojola.
It was gathered that the deceased was shot by a stray bullet while on a motorcycle with his mother identified as Femi Omojola of Ifofin at Ilerin along Ilesa/Iperindo road.
The young girl died on the way to Wesley Hospital, Ilesa.
It was also gathered that the mother and one other child who were on the same bike with the young girl sustained injuries.
When NPOreports reached out to the command's spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola, she confirmed the incident in a statement made available to NPOreports.
She said, “There was additional info that hoodlums on motorcycle shot one Ruth Omojola F Aged about 10yrs and her mother one Femi omojola F of Ifofin at Ilerin along Ilesa/iperindo road as a result the young girl died ON the way to Wesley Hospital Ilesa while the mother and one other child on the bike sustained injuries. Her corpse has been deposited at same Hospital mortuary while the injured were admitted at same Hospital.”
“Effort is ongoing to arrest the criminals,” she added.
