At least two people have been reported dead with a girl sustaining a gunshot injury as suspected bandits stormed Kwara community.
As disclosed in a post shared on X on Monday, the armed bandits launched a deadly attack on Gbugbu community under the Lafiagi Emirate in Edu Local Government Area of the state on Sunday.
The attack, according to local sources, occurred at about 8:00PM.
While security operatives reportedly confronted the assailants in fierce gun duel, witnesses said two victims lost their lives during the incident, while a little girl sustained gunshot wounds and is currently battling for her life.
A disturbing video attached to the post captured rattling sound of gunfire exchange between the security operatives and the bandits in the dead of the night.
Residents said the latest assault is part of a growing wave of insecurity affecting communities in the area.
The attack is also coming days after bandits reportedly attacked Bacitagi village, where two people were kidnapped and a local vigilante commander was killed.
