The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed that no single person contracted COVID-19 in the past 24-hours.
This is the first time Nigeria will announce no cases of the disease since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 was announced a year ago.
This was disclosed on the agency's official Facebook account on Sunday.
According to the Health Institute, the total number of infections in the country remained 167,206.
The agency also said no death was recorded, as the initial death records remained 2,117.
The health agency disclosed that 163,557 cases have been discharged after successful treatment since the beginning of COVID-19.
The NCDC said that the number of active COVID-19 cases in the country currently stood at 1,498 in the past 24 hours.
According to the centre, a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, continues to coordinate the national response activities in the country.
So far, the country has tested 2,231,409 people.
