Nigerian social media influencer and activist, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has declared an unofficial fourth arm of government in his first online appearance after his release from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
NPO Reported that the activist was released on Wednesday after spending five days in EFCC custody over multiple petitions bordering on alleged financial infractions.
His arrest last week had sparked public outrage and online campaign for his release.
The online campaign would however turn into protest in several parts of the country on account of the EFCC’a initial silence over VDM’s arrest and detention.
The activist who had since kept a low profile since his release eventually made his first appearance in a post on his Instagram handle on Friday.
Cladded in traditional Benin attire, VeryDarkMan could be seen dancing to what appeared to be a blend of afrobeat and folk song.
After few dancing steps, the activist declared the Ratel Movement as the fourth arm of government.
“Alright. First of all, we now have four arms of government. The legislative arm, the judicial arm, the executive arm, and the Ratel Movement. We are just starting.” He said.
While he did not clarify what the movement is about, it appeared to be in recognition of the protesters who agitated for his release.
