The end of rift between the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, and the suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has further being affirmed as they were both spotted at the burial ceremony of Wike’s uncle at Rumuepirikom, Rivers State.
NPO Reported that the duo had alongside members of the Rivers State House of Assembly on Thursday evening met President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
In what would be considered as the President”s second attempt in resolving the clash between Wike and Fubara which had over the years thrown Rivers into political crisis and eventual declaration of a state of emergency, Tinubu finally brokered a truce between the state’s political leaders during a closed-door meeting.
Wike and Fubara would both confirm the end to their rift after the meeting with the former declaring the return of peace in the state while the latter vowed to maintain the peace.
In affirmation of the development, Wike’s spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, shared a video on his Instagram handle on Saturday, showing the FCT Minister and Fubara together.
As captured in the video, the duo were cheered by the crowd following their arrival at the venue of the burial.
Wike was also joined at the ceremony by the suspended Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule, among other dignitaries.
