The resignation of Goodluck Iheamnacho as the Sole Administrator for Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State has turned out to be done under duress as video of mob attacking and forcing him to sign his resignation letter surfaced online.
Iheamnacho had reportedly tendered his resignation on Friday, barely three months after being sworn in.
The LG official had in the letter directed to Rivers Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas, cited his decision on his plan to return to private business as reason for his resignation.
However, Iheamnacho as captured in a now viral video across social media appeared to have signed the letter under duress.
As seen in the video, the mob armed with swords, cain, the other weapons had stormed the Ahoada East LG Administrator’s office, brutally assaulting him.
He was ordered to sign the letter lying on chair beside him as he got beaten with swords and cain.
A yet-to-be identified man would later be dragged alongside the LG Administrator and subjected to physical assault as well.
