Former Osun State Governor and incumbent Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has been seen in a video jubilating over the controversial release of the state’s Local Governments’ allocation to the sacked All Progressives Congress (APC) Council Chairmen.
The Facebook video recorded by his former Commissioner for Works and current Executive Director of the Federal Housing Authority, Remi Omowaiye, showed the ex-Osun governor beaming while calmly reclining on his seat as Omowaiye hailed him over the release of the fund.
In what appeared to be a mockery of the Governor Ademola Adeleke-led administration, Omowaiye bragged about Oyetola’s superiority over his successor as he announced that the alert of the released fund has been received by the chairmen.
“Superiority is not by physical combat. Alert has entered, Oyetola is the leader.” The ex-Osun Commissioner for Works said in Yoruba.
NPO Reported that the LG allocation withheld by the Federal Government amid the lingering political crisis in the state had discreetly been released to the APC Council Chairmen sacked by court ruling.
This had sparked controversies as the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) earlier this week raised alarm over the release of the fund directly to the sacked APC Council Chairmen.
While admitting that the fund has been released, the APC however denied its transfer to the sacked council chairmen.
The PDP in reaction demanded the whereabout of the funds, disclosing that it has not been transferred into the LG treasury.
Meanwhile, a letter from one of the sacked council chairmen showed requesting the transfer of 15 percent of the allocation into a private account fund surfaced online yesterday.
NPO Reported that the council leader identified as Bayo Oyekanmi, chairman of Boluwaduro LGA, had allegedly co-signed the leaked letter with the council treasurer, Lasisi Oyebode, and addressed it to the UBA Manager.
As contained in the letter, Oyekanmi instructed the bank to deduct 15 percent from the allocation of the council, which he confirmed to have been paid into the council’s account, to be transferred into the account of one Layonu and Co as legal fees.
