Osun State’s All Progressive Congress (APC) Governorship aspirant for the 2026 Gubernatorial election, Otunba Iyiola Omisore, has commenced his quest to lead the state in a rather unsettling manner as he was captured in a now viral video whipping some party members with broom at his declaration rally.
Omisore had on Tuesday officially declared his ambition to contest in the governorship election at the Osun APC Secretariat in Ogo-Oluwa area of Osogbo, the state’s capital.
Ahead of the event, hundreds of the party members and loyalists had stormed the venue for the former Deputy Governor’s declaration of interest.
However, some overly excited members appeared to have surged forward towards the podium.
The moment captured in the video shared on Facebook saw Omisore lashing them with a broom, an insignia of the APC.
This had however sparked mixed reactions from netizens as some described Omisore as a no-nonsense man while others expressed their displeasure with his action.
