Some parts of the country are beginning to show signs of violent protests by residents over the hardship being encountered by the scarcity of both the new and old naira notes.
Areas such as Apete, Eleyele, Mokola in the city of Ibadan have witnessed massive protests with motorists being turned back by angry protesters. The protests emerged shortly after the decision of the Supreme Court to adjourn the case instituted initially by three Northern states -Kogi, Kaduna and Zamfara states demanding a suspension of the new Naira policy.
In Warri Delta State, some residents are said to have vandalised the ATM booth of one of the big commercial banks as a result of frustrations over the Naira.
