Voters’ accreditation has commenced in some polling units at Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) as the 2026 Federal Capital Territory (FCT) election gets underway.
NPO Reported the deployment of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials to their respective polling units for the Saturday election at the capital city.

While election is yet to commence at some polling units and wards due to late arrival of the INEC officials, voting exercise have already commenced at PU 087, Garki Ward in AMAC Area Council at 8:40am.
INEC officials at the polling units awaits arrival of more voters as the ballot boxes, Bi-Modal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) machine, and other election materials are all in place for the poll.
The FCT council election is slated to hold in 2,822 polling units across the six Area Councils which include Abaji, AMAC, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje, and Kwali with over 1.5 million registered voters confirmed by INEC.
