The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has announced the release of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
WAEC made the announcement in a statement issued on their official X handle on Monday.
The council also released the link where candidates can check their results.
“The West African Examinations Council is pleased to inform candidates who sat WASSCE for School Candidates, 2025 that the result has officially been released today, Monday, August 4, 2025. To access the result, log on to waecdirect.org.” the statement read.
The 2025 May/June WASSCE will largely be remembered for the controversial conduct of the English Language papers which was written at night by candidate across Nigeria.
NPO Reported that the worrisome ordeal which was experienced in all centres and secondary schools brought WAEC under limelight as several videos of candidates writing their English Language examination in the dark surfaced online.
While the examination eventually commences around 9pm in some centres, others reported commencement around 9:30pm.
The situation had forced several parents and guardians to stay up late and keep watch on their wards at their respective centres.
WAEC however apologized for the delay while citing that it encountered challenges in an attempt prevent leakage of any paper.
