Chairman of ASUU, Prof. Victor Emmanuel Osodeke stated this as the union executive council meets in Abuja today.
The union is expected to meet with officials of the Federal Government later this week to open negotiations over the pending trade disputes.
The one-month warning strike that kicked off last week is in its second week.
ASUU stated this on Monday via its Twitter handle, saying “The members of the National Executive Council of ASUU meets today in Abuja where they will meet the FG later in the week concerning the strike. The Chairman of the union Prof. Osodeke, said if the government was responsive, there would be no need for the strike to last for weeks.”
The union had accused the government of insincerity over its agreement with it before it called off the industrial action last year.
