French President, Emmanuel Macron, was on Monday forced to trek to the venue of the 80th United Nations General Assembly as Police blocked access road for the motorcade of the United States President, Donald Trump.
As captured in a video shared on Instagram by New York Post, Macron and his envoy were stopped along a street at Midtown Manhattan by the Police who had sealed off the road with their patrol cars forming barricade.
One of the officers could be heard feigning ignorance of who the French was while he spoke with another officer.
Macron pleaded with the officers to grant him access as Trump’s motorcade was yet to arrive.
His plea was however rejected by the officers.
Macron would call Trump right in the presence in of the officers to informing him of his ordeal.
“How are you? Guess what, I’m wait on the street because everything is frozen for you.” Macron on the phone before switching to conversation on talks with Qatar over the Israeli-Gaza war.
The French President was eventually access but still had to trek for about 30 minutes to the venue of the ongoing event.
