A video capturing moment suspected bandits demanded N20 million from the family of an abducted woman has surfaced online.
While details of the location the woman was not disclosed in the video, she would however be identified as a Yoruba woman as she addressed her son who called her before she handed over the phone to one of the bandits.
The receiver who appeared to be the bandits’ translator exchanged pleasantries with the son of the kidnapped woman in Yoruba.
He asked the family the amount raised so far with the son of the woman disclosing that they have only managed to raise N2.5 million.
After translating the information to his colleagues, the bandits’ negotiator returned to the phone, threatening to kill the woman as he demanded N20 million from the family.
“We will kill your mother if you don’t pay N20 million” He said in Yoruba with the abducted woman heard appealing to the bandits.
Her son pleaded with the negotiator to reduce the ransom to N3 million.
This was however rejected by the bandits as they insisted on the N20 million ransom.
