The glamourous and regale reception parade organised by Turkiye President, Recep Erdogan, for President Bola Tinubu, has been dented by another infamous fall as the Nigerian leader stumbled during the parade on Tuesday.
Tinubu, who arrived at Ankara, the country’s capital, on Monday night, made his first formal appearance on Tuesday morning as he inspected a Guard of Honour held for him at the Presidential Palace.
The colourful event would however be marred with a now viral video of Tinubu stumbling and falling while approaching the stairs of the Presidential Palace after the inspection.
As captured in the video shared on X, the Nigerian President, who was closely accompanied by Erdogan during the parade, got knocked off balance as he appeared to have missed his steps.
He was however quickly assisted back to his feet of Turkish officials present at the event.
NPO Reported that the President had on Monday morning departed Abuja for the European country for a state visit.
According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s visit is aimed at strengthening the cordial relations between Nigeria and Türkiye and exploring further areas of cooperation for mutual benefit.
He is billed to hold talks with Erdogan while also engaging in the signing of Memoranda of Understanding between both countries, alongside other official engagements.
