Rivers State Governor, Nyesome Wike, has dropped another bombshell on Thursday describing the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu as an ingrate.
Wike was responding to Ayu who spoke in a BBC interview on Wednesday saying those trying to upset the PDP at this stage were “children” who were no where to be found when he was one of the founding fathers of the party.
“I was elected PDP National Chairman for four years, now I am not even one year old. The issue of Atiku’s election does not apply to the position of party leader. I won the election. In our constitution we have done this.’
“I haven’t done anything wrong, I’m reforming the party, the noise is not bothering me. When we started the PDP journey, we did not see these children. They are children who do not know why we established this party. We will not allow one person to come and destroy our party,” he stated
But reacting, Wike said Ayu is ungrateful for those “childlren” who brought him from the gutters to crown him as the Chairman of the party.
“Somebody said those of you who said the right thing must be done are boys; they are children. You can imagine what power can do. You can imagine how the ingratitude; how people can be ingrates,” he attacked the PDP chairman again.
Wike, who also accused Ayu of poor accountability over funds given to him for some assignments such as printing of posters, said Ayu and his co-travellers would be taught a big lesson.
He accused Ayu of failing to bring peace to the party.
“Your business is not to show arrogance. Dr Ayu said we are children. Yes, the children brought you to be chairman of the party, the children brought you from the gutter to make you chairman,” he added.
Wike added that Ayu was impeached as Senate President, sacked by Obasanjo in his administration two times, stressing arrogance would not take him anywhere.
