Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has urged residents on thanksgiving to God for their individual growth and the state’s collective development.
The governor made this statement at the 25th Annual Lagos State Thanksgiving Service, themed ‘Harvest of Thanksgiving’, held at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, on Sunday.
According to Sanwo-Olu, 2024 saw significant developments and the implementation of tough policies by President Bola Tinubu, which are now yielding positive results.
“We have seen growth across sectors, which will continue in the new year, while the world has seen Nigeria in a more positive light, leading to increased foreign direct investments,” the governor stated.
He assured that his administration would continue to collaborate with the Federal Government to ensure all citizens benefit from the dividends of democracy.
Sanwo-Olu also pledged that the executive would continue to work with the state legislature on reliable and affordable electricity in the state and in the conduct of Local Government elections within the year.
In the same vein, the state’s Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ibrahim Layode, thanked participants and urged residents to prepare for their harvest of thanksgiving with diligence.
The event, which featured music, praise, worship, prayers, and Bible readings, was attended by the governor’s wife, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, state government officials, the Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, and various religious leaders.
