Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has assured the state’s stakeholders of a smooth political journey in 2026.
Fubara made this known during his address at the 2026 New Year Banquet with the stakeholders on Thursday.
The governor who had last year endured a turmoil-filled period in which he was suspended for six months with President Bola Tinubu declaring state if emergency in the state.
While he had since been reinstated, fresh clash has again began between him and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who had in the past weeks faulted the governor’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In his address yesterday, Fubara urged the officials not to be carried away by the current situations.
He held that necessary arrangements have been made to ensure smooth run of the year 2026.
“Let us not be fooled by whatever is happening. Caeser, in one of his quotes, said the only why the dog barks us when it doesn’t understand.
“If you have a dog in your house and it knows you, does it need to bark?
“When the dog starts barking, maybe it’s seeing something it doesn’t understand. We are not barking because we understand.
“We know where we are going. We have set all things that are needed to make the journey smooth.” Fubara said.
