Nigerian afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has backed the defection of his Uncle and Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to Accord Party.
NPO earlier Reported Adeleke’ official unveiling of the membership with Accord Party.
Adeleke made the announcement at the Government House Banquet Hall where his cabinet members and other loyalists were gathered for the declaration.
Recall that the governor had last week announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) while his next party was not immediately disclosed.
In the wake of his declaration of Accord as his new party, Davido took to his Instagram handle to back the governor’s defection.
The singer assured Adeleke of his support as well as his re-election victory by 2026.
“Imole 4+4 Behind You…We move Accordingly” Davido wrote.
The OBO crooner is renowned for his support of the Osun Governor’s political career.
He played a crucial in mobilising supporters that ensured Adeleke’s defeat of former Osun Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, during the 2022 gubernatorial election.
