Nigerian award-winning movie and theatre Director, Bolanle Austen-Peters has recounted her ordeal in the heavy traffic gridlock which stretched across Lagos Island and Victoria Island on Wednesday evening.
NPO Reported that the closure of the Independence/Marina Inward Bridge had led to the gridlock which forced many motorists to abandoned their vehicles after hours of standstill.
Austen-Peters, who was also trapped in the traffic congestion recounted her ordeal in a post on her X handle on Thursday.
The stage-play Director also shared distressing ordeals of commuters as she disclosed walking through water puddles.
“Poor or rich, security cars or okada, everyone was humbled by yesterday’s traffic. Walking from VI to Ikoyi heard someone say “whether your car is worth 7billion or not we are all stuck together in this traffic.
“Non existent pedestrian walkways, broken rails on bridges, water puddles became the only path for all except you wanted to stay in the traffic.
“This is the reality of the average man. SMH… which way forward..???” Bolanle Austen-Peters wrote.
The thespian was, however, not the only public figure trapped in the gridlock yesterday as Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, also recounted her ordeal in a post on her X handle.
The actress had advised Lagos Island residents to stay at home.
“Falomo Bridge leading to Akin Adesola, Ozumba, and Ikoyi..If you have no emergency, stay home. Simple” She wrote.
