President Bola Tinubu has charged state governors under the All Progressives Congress (APC) to provide succor and share the dividends of democracy to Nigerians undergoing economic hardship at the grassroot levels.
Tinubu gave the charge during his address at the APC’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held in Abuja on Thursday.
The President further urged them to deliver progressive change to Nigerians.
“Nigerians are still complaining at the grassroots to you, the governors. You have to wet the grass small and lead the way in delivering progressive change to Nigerians.” He said.
Earlier in his address, Tinubu disclosed suffering emotional distraught over the death of his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari.
He however expressed his gratitude to Vice President Kashim Shettima for the role he played during the funeral of the late former President.
“Let me first of all, on behalf of all of us and Nigerians in particular, thank the Vice President for the very successful role he played to my predecessor that he brought back with dignity.
“Bringing Buhari back was an emotional distraught for me. For all of us, I say thank you.” Tinubu said.
