Wike’s Media Man Replies Critics Who Accused FCT Minister of Travelling With Sons for Foreign Events
- Safiu Kehinde
Lere Olayinka, the media aide to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has fired back at critics accusing the Minister of traveling with his sons for a foreign event.
Wike’s appearance at the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Tuesday with his two sons, Jordan and Joaquin, spotted amongst his delegates, had sparked mixed reactions.
Netizens had accused the FCT Minister of turning political assignment into family business.
Reacting in a post on his X handle, Olayinka slammed the critics urging them to travel with their enemies when they get to power.
“When e reach your turn, carry your enemies travel! Hissssssssssssh” the FCT Minister’s media aide wrote.

Meanwhile, Wike’s appearance at the conference with his sons was one out of many public appearances the FCT Minister has attended alongside them.
In April, Joaquin had followed his father to the inspection of the Abuja International Conference Centre and Gishiri road.
The following month, Joaquin was again seen with the FCT Minister during a meeting in China.
The father and son partnership had also come under public spotlight earlier this year as a leaked document of alleged allocation of land to Joaquin in. Abuja went viral.
Wike was, in the document, alleged to have allocated 2,000 hectares of land to Joaquin in Maitama and Asokoro area of Abuja.
However, the Minister had since debunked the claims.
