Bashir Ahmed, Special Adviser on Digital Communications to former President Muhammadu Buhari, has labelled those involved in the purchase of the land used in building 753 duplexes a d other apartments as ‘sick’ while calling for their punishment.
Bashir made the call in a post on his X handle on Tuesday.
The ex-Presidential aide called for the support of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in their against corruption.
“Whoever stole Nigerian money and acquired lands or better to say a whole village to build 753 units of duplexes and other apartments must be SICK.
“We must support the EFCC and authorities in their efforts to address this cancerous corruption and ensure all the culprits are severely punished according to the law of the land.” Bashir wrote.
Recall that the EFCC had seized the expanse estate in what was described as the biggest recovery ever made by the anti-graft agency.
Meanwhile, NPO reported that the property was linked to embattled former Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.
Reacting to a comment on his post by an X user who claimed the former CBN governor carried out the corrupt act under the Buhari administration, Bashir failed to admit to that Emefiele was responsible for the scandal.
He, however, stated that those involved abused the trust of the former President.
“The former President trusted them and they abused the trust so whoever he or she is must be punished.” Bashir wrote.
