Nigerian comedian, Freedom Atsepoyi, aka Mr. Jollof, has explained reason for biting social media influencer and activist, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan,
NPO Reported that comedian had earlier on Monday clashed with VeryDarkMan on board a United Nigerian Airline flight at the Asaba International Airport, Delta State.
The duo was captured in a viral video exchanging punch in the Lagos-bound flight.
They were subsequently deboarded by the airport officials and handed over to the security operatives.
Shortly after the clash, VDM posted a video of the injury he sustained on his chest which showed trail of impact from a bite.
The social media influencer alleged that Mr. Jollof had bitten him during their brawl.
Reacting to the incident in a video shared on X, the comedian confirmed to have bitten VeryDarkMan.
Mr. Jollof admitted biting the social media influencer who he claimed to have delivered several punches at him like a pro boxer.
He resorted to biting in defence as against a more physically dominant VeryDarkMan.
“Why I no go bite am? If you see the blow wey this guy dey throw ehn? My God! Gbim gbim! Naso he dey throw punch like say he be boxer. Nigerians abeg make una reason this matter well.” Mr. Jollof said.
Meanwhile, the clash had sparked mixed reactions with some members of the public condemning their action.
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority’s (NCAA) Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Micheal Achimugu, had also in reaction vowed to ensure that legal action is taken against Mr. Jollof and VeryDarkMan.
Achimugu condemned their unruly behaviour while accusing them of putting the lives of others at risk.
