A Kwara State Magistrate Court in Ilorin has ordered the remand of controversial Islamic cleric, Alhaja Kafilat Kaola, over alleged defamation suit filed against her by fellow Islamic cleric and the Wazeer Muslimeen of Oyo State, Alhaji Taofeek Akewugbagold.
The court had at the hearing of the case on Monday remanded Kaola at the Oke Kura Correctional Centre, Ilorin.
As captured in a post shared on X, the Ibadan-based cleric who is also an On Air presenter (OAP) was led to a waiting Black Maria with her hand cuffed.
Kaola’s dispute with Akewugbagold reportedly spanned several years and involved various controversies.
According to reports, the OAP, was remanded pending further investigation into her alleged defamatory statements against Akewugbagold.
While the nature of the of case remained undisclosed, the evidence of the clerics’ feud was captured in a viral video shared on X last year.
As captured in the video, Alhaja Kaola could be seen chastising Akewugbagold over his relationship with one Okanlomo.
