Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has revealed why Nigeria cannot get leaders accountable to the people.
Fintiri made this disclosure in a post on his X handle on Wednesday.
The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) governor noted that deprivation of the people’s right to choose who they want as leaders would result to having leaders who are not accountable.
“So long as you don’t allow the people to choose their leaders, you can’t get leaders who are accountable to the people.” Fintiri wrote.
Recall that the governor had, during the Edo gubernatorial election, lamented over alleged results manipulation and vote buying which the PDP accused the All Progressive Congress (APC) of.
Fintiri had, in the cause of the election, stirred controversies following his announcement of results after alleging disruption of results collation.
However, the PDP lost the election as APC’s Monday Okpebholo was declared winner.
