Human rights activist and social media influencer, Issac Fayose, has cited the bad road that leads to the Ekiti State Agro-Allied International Airport as the reason the state governor, Biodun Oyebanji, cannot invite President Bola Tinubu to the state.
Though Tinubu had scarcely visited any southwest state aside Lagos over the past months, Fayose in a post on his Instagram handle on Saturday however warned the President against planning to visit Ekiti.
The brother of former governor of the state, Ayodele Fayose, decried the deteriorating state of the road which he claimed can force a pregnant woman into labour.
While admiring the beauty of the airport, the activist however alleged that it was jointly constructed with former governor of the state, Kayode Fayemi, building the airport’s fire station.
The car park and the radar room were according to Fayose equipped by the renowned Nigerian lawyer and educationist, Chief Afe Babalola.
Fayose warned Tinubu of endorsing Oyebanji for a second term as he labelled the governor a scam.
He charged the President to send delegates to reassess the airport as he alleged that the officials of the airport could not account for the cost of the facility.
“Ekiti airport is one of the most beautiful airports that we have in Nigeria today.
“They say na Kayode do the fire station. They say na Baba Afe do car park. He is the one that even equip the radar.
“We sked how much is the figure? They couldn’t tell us. Ekiti airport road, if you are pregnant, don’t go there. Your baby will come out.
“Na now I know why dem no bring President Tinubu to Ekiti. President Tinubu your back will break. If ypu are pregnant, you go enter labour immediately.
“We asked them how much be dis airport? They don’t know. They just dey spend Ekiti money. One will say BAO spent N70 million. Ekiti dem don dupe the owner. BAO is a scam.
“The only thing wey see for Ekiti na ring road, less than seven kilometres.
“President Tinubu, if you come Ekiti, na Paris you dey go. No try am o President Tinubu.
“We asked them how much is this airport is going to be making? They said N400K in two days.
“How much be your waybill? They don’t know.
“BAO is a scam. President Tinubu, do not reinforce failure. Send people there. The airport is beautiful, but dem no know figure.” Fayose said.
