The Plateau Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Elizabeth Wapmuk, has said the State Government has withdrawn the licenses of all private primary and secondary schools in the state.
She said the decision was taken having discovered that 5,000 private schools were operating in the state illegally.
The commissioner noted that about 90 per cent of the schools do not adhere to government policies and mandates on education.
The ministry intends to revalidate the operating license of all private Nursery/Pre-primary, Primary, Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary Schools in the state.

She added that it would also support those that operate within the ambit of the law, to achieving quality education for all.
