Former Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike has arrived at the National Assembly for his ministerial screening.
Wike arrived at the National Assembly with his wife and some party loyalists.
Recall that Wike, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was part of the first set of ministerial nominees Tinubu forwarded to the Senate last Thursday.
He was believed to have worked tor the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the February election.
Known for his “agreement is agreement” slogan, his nomination is seen as a compensation for his roles in the election of the president as well as his internal battles with his party, the PDP which was to the advantage of the All Progressive Congress.
The nominees listed for screening today are Sen. Abubakar Kyari (Borno), Abubakar Momoh – (Edo), Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Prof. Joseph Utsev – (Benue) and Sen. John Enoh ( Cross River).
Others are Bello Muhammad (Sokoto State), Mohammed Abubakar – (Jigawa), Amb.Yusuf Maitama (Bauchi State), Sen. Abubakar Danladi (Taraba), Uju-Ken Ohaneye (Anambra) and Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (Ondo State).
Others include: Dr Betta Edu (Cross River), Imaan Sulaiman (Nasarawa State), Mr Ahmed Musa-Dangiwa (Katsina State), Chief Uche Geoffrey-Nnaji (Enugu State) and Stella Okotete ( Delta).
Earlier, the Senate had suspended its rule to allow the nominees and visitors into the chamber.
