The Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy, has again disrupt an event held without her consent.
In a replica of similar disruption earlier this month, the Minister could again be seen at National Validation Workshop reportedly hosted by her ministry in partnership with Norwegian Embassy yesterday.
The visibly elated Uju warned the organizers of the event which she claimed was done without her consent.
She condemned the constant organization of events under the aegis of women affairs with huge amount of money without having direct impact on the targeted women in question.
“Let this be the last time Women Affairs will organize anything that I’m not aware of. If you try it next time, I will come here and get you people dismissed.
“I know what I’m going through in this country. For a while, this is what we keep on organizing.
“Few weeks ago there was hunger protest and they talked about peace and security, women are not empowered, children are suffering, Nigerians are suffering.
“But we waste money all the time in frivolous things that does not make sense.
“I am sorry. Many people may misunderstand me, but I am ready to be misunderstood. I am ready to be tortured.” She said.
She stressed further that there will no longer be women program without feasible empowerment.
“I have changed the narratives. I said no programs without empowerment. You are talking about peace and security. With poverty, how can you solve it? With poverty where are we heading to? And how are we solving that challenge? By directing money to the wrong channels that makes no impact on the women or those people you want them to change and give you peace.” Uju said.
